Mill City Saab Show Case
We attended the Mill City Saab Showcase in Lowell, MA, hosted by Matt Resendes. While a great showing of modern and vintage Saabs, despite the blazing heat, it was also great to catch up with our Saab friends, and of course, make some new ones. As you'll see, many 900s and 9-3s made up the roster, but a few other goodies were sprinkled in, including a few 9-5s!
If you can read it, it's true!
Matt Resendes, known for having a 9-3 accentuated with very rare NEVS parts, was not able to have his car ready for the meet. So, instead, he made us believe it was. I think it worked, do you?
1979 900 GLE
This unicorn 900 is one of our personal favorites. The '79 900 features one year only parts, most of which would never be used on future 900 models. Read more about this one-of-one 900 in the Swedish Car Day 2025 entry.
1999 9-3 Viggen
A beautiful 3-door Viggen in lightning blue.
Another beautiful blue Saab, owned by Nick Chanda. This is a 60th anniversary edition, finished in Ice Blue metallic.
A lovely base model 900, riding on Minilites. This car is owned by Luke Lewis, and is a staple of most local Saab shows. If not this car, then at least one of his Saabs is!
2003 9-3 Vector
Owned by Chad Rousseau, his special 9-3 features an uncommon paint color, being finished in Dolphin Gray. It also has a custom upholstered interior, which pushes the limits of what a Saab interior could've looked like. These qualities make it easily one of the nicest 9-3s in New England.
1987 Saab 900 Turbo
This car features very rare SuperInca wheels and a Carlsson Airflow body kit.
2001 Saab 9-5 Wagon
This car is on track to receive a manual swap soon. Otherwise, it's a very nice early glass headlight 9-5.
